Rundoo introduces multiple levels of product categorization
FYI: Last weekβs Primer covered switching from daily interest to a monthly finance charge. To have a clean switch for your customers, this feature will turn on the day after your August statement run.
Rundoo has historically only allowed products to have one Category. However, we have heard many of our clients want the ability to apply multiple levels of categorization given they sell tens of thousands of products. So today we introduce three levels of product categorization! We named them what we see most commonly in the industry: Department, Class, and Fineline.
Step 1: Setup in Admin
Go to Admin > Products. Add, edit, and delete the Departments, Classes, and Finelines.
Step 2a: Change on each product
Open any product in the POS. Assign it a Department, Class, and Fineline.Β
Step 2b: Change in bulk
Itβs probably easier to assign categories in bulk rather than one-by-one! Download the spreadsheet; edit the Departments, Classes, and Finelines; re-upload the xlsx file. Read more about bulk updating here.Β
What next?
Now that we have these categories, put them to use! We are incorporating Departments, Classes, and Finelines into the below soon:
Rule-based pricing. Give a customer a discount on a certain Department, Class, or Fineline.
Inventory counts. Select a certain Department, Class, or Fineline to start counting.
Analytics. See how a certain Department, Class, or Fineline is performing.
