At Rundoo, we know how critical data is to running a business. And even more critical is how accessible and actionable that data is. The more data, the merrier and today’s Primer covers a key method for data analysis: Super-Powered Tables (SPT).
What are Super-Powered Tables (SPT)?
SPT are analytics built directly into Rundoo Block data tables; i.e. the main Customers and Products pages in Rundoo. SPT are Rundoo’s unique spins on traditional reporting that act as powerful starting points for answering important business questions.
Why are SPT useful?
SPT capture loads of data, from balances and phone numbers to tier pricing and mins & maxs, and support filters, sorts, and expandable columns (+) to answer everyday questions. SPT are front and center in your existing workflows and offer fast alternatives to longer processes, like navigating to separate reporting UIs, hunting for relevant reports, downloading data, and finally, analyzing. Brutal!!
What common questions do SPT answer?
“Who are my top customers by Sales YTD?”
Within Customers, Sort “Sales: Sales YTD”, High to Low
“Which customers have balances and which customers are most overdue?”
Within Customers, Sort “Balance: 61+ late”, High to Low
Expand (+) the Balance column
“What are my quickest moving products?”
Within Products, Sort “Sales: Turns”, High to Low
Expand (+) the Sales column
“What are my best performing Benjamin Moore products?”
Within Products, Filter “Ordering: Vendor” = “Benjamin Moore”, Sort “Sales: Units YTD”, High to Low
Expand (+) the Sales column, filter to Ben Moore as the vendor, sort by Units YTD, high to low — shows their best performing Ben Moore products
What are SPT best practices?
Leverage the Sort and Filters functions to find specific data.
Expand the columns (+) to expose additional details and metrics.
Copy and paste table data into Excel/Google Sheets for further data manipulation and analysis! The pasting formatting isn’t perfect, but it’s easy to modify!
Use Rundoo’s Analytics page for deeper analysis and less frequent reporting needs, like the “New accounts opened” report.
