1. AI Agents — Put Rundoo AI to Work for You
What is this?
You can now create your own AI Agents in Rundoo. An AI Agent is a task you set up for Rundoo AI to run on a schedule. You pick the action, write the prompt, and choose the time — Rundoo AI handles the rest.
What does this mean?
Think of it like giving your store a night manager who never sleeps. You might want a summary of the day’s sales every evening. Or maybe you want a report on slow-moving inventory every Monday morning. If Report Builder can run it, your AI Agent can run it too — and it can add commentary to help you understand what you’re looking at.
You can also set up an agent to create a draft purchase order for you each night based on what you’re running low on. The purchase order agent goes beyond Report Builder — it actually builds the PO for you so it’s ready to review in the morning.
Why is this important?
Most store owners don’t have time to pull reports every day. Things slip through the cracks. With AI Agents, the reports come to you, on your schedule, with the details you care about. No more logging in just to check the numbers.
This is still early, and we’re building more capabilities. But right now, it’s a real time-saver for owners who want to stay on top of their business without being glued to the screen.

2. Category Search — Browse Your Products Visually
What is this?
Product search now shows your departments as icons when you open it. Instead of seeing a random list of products, you’ll see your department categories laid out visually. Tap a department to browse the products inside it.
What does this mean?
Say a customer walks in looking for caulk, but you’re not sure of the exact product name or SKU. Now you can tap on your “Sundries” department icon and browse from there. If your store uses Department, Class, and Fineline categories, the search follows that structure — tap a department, then a class, then a fineline to narrow things down.
You can also set custom icons for each department in Admin → Products so the layout matches how your team thinks about the store.
Why is this important?
Not every sale starts with a product name. Sometimes a customer points at something on the shelf and says, “I need more of that.” Category search lets your team find it fast — especially on a touchscreen POS. New employees will find this helpful too, since they can browse by category instead of memorizing SKUs.
A key change: when you open product search without typing anything, you’ll now see your departments instead of a random list of products. It’s a cleaner starting point.
What does this look like?
When no product is typed in to the product search bar in Transactions
Click into a department to open a visual search of the products in your catalog. Clicking into a product will add it to the search bar.
3. Per-Customer Credit Card Surcharge Control
What is this?
You can now set individual customers to be exempt from credit card surcharges. This is configured in the customer’s checkout settings.
What does this mean?
Some customers have pricing agreements or account terms where a surcharge doesn’t make sense. Maybe you have a large contractor account where you’ve agreed to absorb the processing fee. Now you can set that customer as exempt, and the surcharge won’t apply to their transactions by default.
Your company-wide surcharge setting still controls the baseline. If you don’t surcharge at all, every customer is already exempt. If you do surcharge, all customers get surcharged unless you specifically exempt them. And you can still override at the register on any individual sale.
Why is this important?
Before this, your team had to remember which customers should skip the surcharge and manually remove it every time. That’s easy to forget, and it’s awkward when a loyal contractor gets hit with a fee they weren’t expecting. Now it just works automatically.

4. Gift Cards Are Ready 🎁
What is this?
Gift cards are fully built and available to any Rundoo store that wants them. You can sell them at the register, customers can redeem them on purchases and bill payments, and you can track every card’s balance and history right inside Rundoo.
What does this mean?
Gift cards work like any other product in your system. Create a gift card product, order physical cards from one of our recommended vendors, and start selling. Customers buy a card, you scan and activate it, and they can redeem it on any future transaction. You can also use gift cards as a clean way to issue store credit — activate a card with a balance and charge $0.
Why is this important?
Gift cards are one of the most-requested features from store owners. They drive repeat visits and make great last-minute purchases — especially around holidays and during spring project season. A customer who doesn’t know which stain to buy can grab a gift card and let the homeowner decide. A contractor’s client can send one over for supplies.
