What is new with Rundoo? π¦
You can now add restocking fees during the return process! When a customer brings back that custom paint color you mixed or the special-ordered door hardware, you have a simple way to cover your costs.
What does this mean? π‘
Returns just got smarter. You no longer have to eat the cost when your paint supplier charges you a restocking fee. Or when dealing with opened paint cans that are tough to resell. The system does the math for you and tracks everything properly.
Why is this important? π°
Mrs. Johnson orders five gallons of custom "Sunset Valencia Orange" paint for her kitchen. She changes her mind and wants to return it. Your paint supplier charges you 15% to take it back. Before this update, you had to absorb that cost. Now you can pass it along fairly.
The same goes for that expensive door handle set that got returned in damaged packaging. You can charge a reasonable restocking fee to cover your hassle.
What does this look like? π―
Here's how easy it is:
Start processing the return like normal
Check the "Charge Restocking Fee" box β
Enter either a percentage (like 15%) or a fixed amount (like $25)
The system automatically calculates the new refund amount
Everything gets recorded in your books automatically
The customer gets their refund minus the restocking fee. You get fair compensation for your costs. Your accounting stays clean with automatic journal entries. Everyone wins! π
This feature works with your existing return permissions. No new setup needed. Just start using it when you need it.
