Export Journal Entries to Quickbooks 📁
Save time and reduce errors with IIF exports for QuickBooks
What’s new with Rundoo?
Within External Accounting, we launched a new export and download functionality for journal entries as IIF (Intuit Interchange Format) files, which can be directly imported into Quickbooks.
If you are using Rundoo Accounting, feel free to ignore this article!
Why are journal entry exports helpful?
Manually transferring journal entries from Rundoo to QuickBooks can be time-consuming and error-prone. By instead importing & exporting an IIF file, you can ensure what happened in Rundoo is exactly what gets into Quickbooks.
How does this work?
Export IIF from Rundoo
In Admin, click “Reporting” under the “Accounting” section.
Click the “Journal entries” tab, select “External accounting.”
Click “Download” to get an IIF file.
Save the file on your computer.
Now, we’re ready to import this into Quickbooks!
Import IIF into Quickbooks
Go to File > Utilities > Import > IIF Files.
Select the IIF file that you exported above.
Voilà! Quickbooks will indicate that you had one successful transaction.
If you’d like to verify that the export worked, go to Company > Make General Journal Entries.
Within the resulting window, select Reports > Entries entered > Today.
And you should see the export exactly as it came from Rundoo! 🙌
What next?
Try it out and let us know how it goes! We’re excited to support your accounting needs and hear how we can continue improving your Quickbooks workflows.
