We added a feature for fixing cost mistakes on sold or returned items. When you discover that a gallon of paint was recorded with the wrong cost in your system, you can now edit it. Maybe you received primer at $24 per gallon but it was entered as $14. Or a box of screws cost you $8 but shows as $5 in the system. The new "Edit Cost" link appears on sold or returned items, and you can fix these mistakes right away.

This means you can fix cost errors that affect your profit margins. Before, if you sold a can of primer but your cost was wrong in the system, your reports would show incorrect profit. You might think you made $10 profit when you really made $7. These wrong costs mess up your business reports and inventory values. Now you can correct the cost data so your numbers are accurate.

Here's how it works:
Find your sold item - Look up that gallon of paint or box of screws that has the wrong cost
Click "Edit Cost" - You'll see this new link if you have permission
Enter the correct cost - A modal opens where you type what the product actually cost you
Save the change - The system updates your cost records and inventory automatically
The system handles all the accounting behind the scenes. It updates your COGS and adds the right inventory adjustments. Your cost records will be correct going forward.
