A better feedback process: The Idea Board š”
This new feature replaces your Client Success Document
If you are a Rundoo client, you have seen a document like the below:
As soon as a client signs up to join Rundoo, we start a document to collaborate. We call these āClient Success Documents,ā and they have primarily served as a place to brainstorm improvements to our product.
This worked great for a while. Clients could shape the future of Rundoo, and for us, it clarified what to build.
But recently, this system hasnāt worked as wellā¦
The Two Problems
We now serve over 50 companies that represent nearly 100 storefronts, and we have failed to keep these documents up-to-date! Namely:
We were not incorporating all feedback. Digesting all client documents became time consuming. And if we didnāt thoroughly understand them, we would base decisions on the biased sample of whomever we had spoken with that week. This isnāt ideal! We want to ensure we are always investing time into the most impactful features.
Clients were not kept up to date. When we launched a new feature, we didnāt always update all the relevant Client Success Documents. Some would simply fall through the cracks. And even for the documents we did update, that client wouldnāt know unless they happened to check!
Weāve been pondering how we could improve this feedback loop. This week, we launched a new approachā¦
The Solution: The Idea Board
What if we consolidated all these docs into a single forum? Clients could see what each other are adding, we could combine similar ideas, and we could communicate in a single place. š¤
Introducing the Idea Board! In Admin > Ideas, you can see the following:
Honestly, Iām pretty pumped! I think this may be our most impactful feature yet because it will influence all future features.
Hereās how you can use it:
Upvote ideas: If you see an idea that you like, give it an up vote! The board is sorted by upvotes, and we are definitely most likely to build the most desired features.
Add new ideas: If you have a new idea, click the āSubmit idea š”ā button
What if I add an idea that is already there? Donāt worry about it! We can merge ideas on our end, which will bring over the votes and ensure everyone following the old idea now follows the new idea.
Stay up to date: If you upvote, comment on, or add an idea, youāll automatically be enrolled in email updates on that idea! We will indicate when a feature gets prioritized, our estimate of its timeline, and ultimately when its launched.
Anything else?
P.S. Weāve shared a lot of personal updates on the Primer, so Iād be remiss not to mention a big oneā¦I got engaged :)
